It was an exquisite day. It was one of those days so clear, so still, so silent, you almost feel the earth itself has stopped in astonishment at it's own beauty.

The Marlborough Sounds New Zealand, and surrounding area are well known for the high number of sunshine hours, actually Blenheim had the second most last year, the crystal clear water, the mountains and the walking tracks, all of which we enjoy being so close to and would love our guests to enjoy them also.

The Queen Charlotte Track starts at Anakiwa, 10 minutes away, and winds it's way out to Ships Cove, we would like to show you a little piece of it. For further information on the track checkout my Queen Charlotte Track page.

The Mahau Sounds leads into Kenepuru Sound and Pelorus Sound , there is a mail boat leaving from Havelock or the Mussel Cruise.  There is also a Mail Boat run from Picton around the Queen Charlotte Sound.

So come and enjoy  our warm, modern Architect award winning home,     where your hosts Karen and Peter, will welcome you, so you too can relax in the beautiful surroundings while taking in the most breathtaking scenery NZ has to offer.

Marlborough Sounds Activities & Events

During the year there are a number of events hosted by the region:

In February each year the International Wine and Food Festival is held at Renwick, just 35 minutes from our guesthouse.

In March, Havelock hosts a Mussel Festival and over Easter of course there is the Omaka Airshow.

Also at Omaka you can visit the WWI Air Museum with displays built by Weta, the company behind The Lord of the Rings.

In April there is the Forrest Estate Graperide where cyclists complete a 102km circuit through some of the most stunning scenery NZ has to offer. Starting & finishing at Forrest Estate Winery in Renwick, heading to Picton, then over the Queen Charlottle Drive, through Linkwater to Havelock, then back towards Blenheim, where entrants participate in "Treading the Grapes".
