It was an exquisite day. It was one of those days so clear, so still, so silent, you almost feel the earth itself has stopped in astonishment at it's own beauty.

The Marlborough Sounds and surrounding area are well known for the high number of sunshine hours, actually Blenheim had the most last year, the crystal clear water, the mountains and the walking tracks, all of which we enjoy being so close to and would love our guests to enjoy them also.

The Queen Charlotte Track starts at Anakiwa, 10 minutes away, and winds it's way out to Ship Cove, we would like to show you a little piece of it. For further information on the track checkout my Queen Charlotte Track page.

The Mahau Sounds leads into Kenepuru Sound and Pelorus Sound and we have 2 kayaks for hire for those wishing to explore the clear waters, beaches and coastline. They are $35 each per day.

We offer a day tour ($70) for 2 people, where we can visit the fantastic Marlborough Wine region, where you can enjoy either lunch or dinner at one of the superb wineries, or if you would like to include a bush walk in your itinerary, we can pack a picnic lunch and our walking shoes and show you some of the beautiful scenery on the Queen Charlotte Track. See the page dedicated to The Queen Charlotte Track for more details.

Breakfast is included in tariff and evening meals are by prior arrangement and very welcome, with local produce and of course we have available superb Marlborough Wines.

Meals are $35 per person for two courses.

All inclusive packages, with ferry, train or airport pickup/dropoff can be quoted, Picton Ferry is just 35 minutes away, as is Blenheim Airport and a little further to the train, so, no need for a rental car, let us do the driving. Full Itinerary , 3 day packages start at $825.

So come and enjoy our warm, modern Architect award winning home, where your hosts Jackie and Kerry, will welcome you, so you too can relax in the beautiful surroundings while taking in the most breathtaking scenery NZ has to offer.

Marlborough Sounds Activities & Events

During the year there are a number of events hosted by the region:

In February each year the International Wine and Food Festival is held at Renwick, just 35 minutes from our guesthouse.

In March, Havelock hosts a Mussel Festival and over Easter of course there is the Omaka Airshow.

Also at Omaka you can visit the WWI Air Museum with displays built by Weta, the company behind The Lord of the Rings.

In April there is the Forrest Estate Graperide where cyclists complete a 102km circuit through some of the most stunning scenery NZ has to offer. Starting & finishing at Forrest Estate Winery in Renwick, heading to Picton, then over the Queen Charlottle Drive, through Linkwater to Havelock, then back towards Blenheim, where entrants participate in "Treading the Grapes". Why not include this in your itinerary and let us provide the restful nights sleep prior to and after the race?

Sample me lovely Marlborough Wines.
